People can serve this ice cream in any way they want to because this ice cream can transfer into anything tempting. Whenever I am eating the mint chocolate chip ice cream, at first the enticing taste of the mint melts in your mouth and when chunks of chocolate hit my teeth, it is like they both are made for each other.
But who invented this mint chocolate chip ice cream?
Marilyn Ricketts is the brains behind this heavenly combination of ice cream. She won an ice-cream-making contest back in 1973 when she was a student at Torquay Catering College in England. It has a beautiful and interesting story behind this invention. Marilyn made mint chocolate chip ice cream in a contest for Princess Anne’s wedding dessert, and there she won the prize and her ice cream was named Mint Royale Ice Cream.
The basic idea of serving the mint ice cream with chocolate chips to people was given by Baskin Robbins. Mint chocolate chip ice cream was one of their 31 flavors in 1945. After their popularity, many of the other ice cream parlors started to serve the mint chocolate chip ice cream in their own way. However, this specific flavor is still the staple flavor of Baskin Robbins.
An interesting fact of this flavor is that in 1926, mint ice cream was used to be called frozen dessert, and people used to eat it with a fork instead of a spoon because it used to have a blistering texture in it. It’s no mystery, in any case, that mint chocolate chip, particularly in its ice cream frame, can be diverging. For those who adore the velvety minty charm, it is the apex of delish sweets. Moreover, like every other ice cream, on 19th February people celebrate Mint Ice Cream day in the world.
